UPC’s Look of the Week
So excited about Fall – the changing color of leaves, crisp cold air, a smoking hot drink and most of all the clothes!!!
Being huge fans of layering - cardigans are the perfect September purhase as they act as a transition piece between summer/fall and winter. Warm enough to be worn on a fall night and light enough to layer under a jacket when the rain turns to snow.
If you haven’t come in yet to check out our new Fall collections I have NO idea what you are waiting for?!

While I may be a ‘bit’ biased, that shirt is absolutely killer. I don’t extoll the virtues of how good Travis Taddeo’s stuff is nearly enough…regardless, from top to bottom that is by far one of my favourite outfits we’ve put together at the store. Sometimes simple and less than more is obviously better…
The best part of these outfits is that they make the transition into fall perfectly, so it’s like you’re buying for more than one season. See how easy it is to rationalize a purchase!

Fall is upon us…not literally but ‘productally’
Regardless of what you think of the word ‘productally’, my grammar was never my strong suit; truth be told making up words is my speciality. With that being said, I am unbelievably happy to report that Margarita Saplala’s F/W 2010 line is slowly showing up on our doorstep and I feel like it’s christmas. One thing to learn about having your own store…you CAN NOT buy everything you bring in no matter how bad you want it.
When we first placed our order almost a year ago one of the pieces that stood out the most were the printed pants. We have always emphasized the purchase of statement pieces especially in an economy where customers are reducing the amount they’re spending on clothes. Ultimately each and every purchase becomes all that much more important. One of the things I appreciate most about these pants are that they are lightweight enough to be a perfect transitional piece from summer into fall when we’re faced with some cold nights.
Now while I have extolled the virtues of the printed pant people need to come by the store to see the new dresses which in my opinion are stunning…the electric blue being the prize of the collection.
This is one of those lines that needs to be seen in person to really appreciate how incredible her pieces are in terms of colour, fabric and construction. So pop on by already!
The Jumpsuit!
Or as I like to put it the onesie. The once popular piece form the 80s has made its way back to the present but with an obvious update and an improved ‘aesthetic’. I’ve always loved the onesie mainly because it usually looks fantastic on but most importantly they are perfect for the summer. Lightweight and ‘flowy’ these pieces allow you to survive in a heat wave while still looking great.
One of our favourite designers form this past season Margarita Saplala produced two that we immediately fell in love with. They’re both on sale but sizes are super limited.

I know it’s summer…but…
How can you not get excited for Fall Merchandise. Summer merch is on sale, product is getting thinner and thinner everyday which means…here comes Fall! How can I think like this? Well truth be told, Fall is BY far my most favourite fashion season. It has the aspects of both hot and cold meaning you can have a great crossover from both seasons. I live in long sleeves come cold weather and combine that with the number of options we are bringing in for Fall; I think I’m in heaven!
So with that, I thought I would show you a little ‘sneak’ peek of our upcoming buy. Some of our favs…
From Margarita Saplala:
Margarita Saplala is by far the brand I am most excited for coming this Fall. Their colours, fits and pieces are both elegant, relaxed and hang off the body perfectly. It’s like combining both bohemian and high end into one. Dare I say a hippie fashionista .
House of Dagmar:
And my favourites….Velour:
Somehow each and EVERY year Velour sucks me into buying their buttons downs…why? Because they are absolutely some of the best fitting and most creative ones out there. Gets me every time with the contrasting colours. Damn. Them.
More sneak peeks to come over the summer…but this is just the beginning.
